Qualifications & experience

  • Registered Nurses (AHPRA)
  • Bachelor of Nursing
  • Police check and Covid-19 vaccination certificate required
  • Experience in a similar role or Aged care facilities is an advantage
  • Infection Prevention Control (IPC) qualification and experience is an advantage

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Provide a professional, courteous, and sensitive clinical services
  • Ability to work independently, strive for excellence in resident care and promote an environment of harmony and trust with team and residents
  • Coordinate with the nurses for documentation, clinical services to the residents
  • Assist and support residents and team with their care needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team
  • Experience in resident note taking, clinical reporting and some admin skills is an advantage

Qualifications & experience

  • Extensive experience in managing a team with proven leadership skills and the capacity to support change management initiatives
  • Satisfactory level of computer proficiency to record accurate resident documentation
  • Sound knowledge and experience of the aged care accreditation standards
  • Experience and knowledge of AN-ACC assessment guidelines and procedures
  • A high level of motivation, passion, empathy and drive to ensure superior clinical outcomes are met for all our residents
  • Must have AHPRA registration and Federal Police Check
  • Sound knowledge of clinical reporting obligations to the department

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Work closely with Kanandah management to ensure exemplary clinical care is delivered to up-to 96 residents through direct oversight
  • Work closely with the clinical team and AN-ACC Officer in the development of care plans that support the well-being of residents
  • Drive the clinical care quality improvement program to ensure the delivery of resident focused clinical care
  • Have sound technical nursing skills, clinical knowledge and clinical assessment skills
  • Be responsible for the quality of the clinical service provided and the overall service satisfaction levels inclusive of the complaints process
  • Ensure appropriate and detailed documentation is updated on a regular basis in line with AN-ACC guidelines and processes as well as the Aged Care accreditation standards
  • Be flexible with work hours and willing to work on call shifts as required
  • Support clinical manager with day to day clinical governance responsibilities

  • Enrolled Nurse (AHPRA)
  • Diploma of Nursing
  • Experience in a similar role or aged care facilities is an advantage
  • Infection Prevention Control (IPC) qualification and experience is an advantage
  • Current National Police check


About the Role
You will play a key role in delivering safe, patient-centered care by supporting registered nurses and contributing to the overall co-ordination of clinical services.

You will:

  • Have a working knowledge of Aged Care settings, including Aged Care Standards, WH&S standards and computerised management systems
  • Monitor day-to-day use of equipment and work practices to ensure Kanandah is a safe residence and workplace environment
  • Ensure the values of Kanandah are incorporated into daily practices
  • Document and respond to incidents reported, ensuring appropriate action plans are in place
  • Ensure the facility meets Accreditation Standards
  • Contribute towards current care plans based on each resident's needsUndertake regular and relevant personal education and training
  • Assist with complex wound dressing and complete simple wound dressings
  • Support the Registered Nurse on duty in managing day-to-day clinical operations
