Types of residential care and accommodation

Each resident is accommodated in their own single bedroom with ensuite bathroom.  The rooms all have access to the wrap-around verandah, the delightful gardens and Mudgee's fresh country air.

Kanandah provides a single bed, bedside table, easy chair and cupboard with shelving and hanging space.

Residents are encouraged to provide for their further comforts.  Items such as a television set, personal memorabilia (within reason), favourite items of furniture (within reason) and a bar fridge are to be found in the rooms of most residents. These creature comforts and the specialised care provided to each resident ensure the transition into aged care is easy at Kanandah. The comfort of residents in winter is enhanced by under-floor heating.

There may be restrictions on the quantity and types of personal furniture that can be brought into the room occupied by a resident with higher care needs, based entirely on the necessity for care staff to properly access the resident in both their room and the bathroom.

Kanandah is very proud of its ability to provide for every need and comfort for the vast majority of its residents.

Respite Care

Kanandah is able to offer both high and low respite care in both the Hostel and in Douro Lodge.

Naturally an advance booking is necessary in most instances. Each single bed respite room has its own ensuite bathroom.

The respite rooms are fully furnished and where required it may be possible to include a television set and fridge.
